KONZA, Inc. Expands Nationwide Exchange of Health Data

KONZA, Inc., (formerly KAMMCO Health Solutions) is pleased to announce two new network connections that significantly expand the electronic exchange of health data across the nation. On September 25th, KONZA completed the connection to Atrium Health CareConnect (formally Carolinas Healthcare System), and on September 26th, KONZA completed the connection to the Greater New Orleans Health Information Exchange (GNOHIE). These connections bring the total number of KONZA connected facilities to over 8,000 across the country and world. The connection to Atrium Health CareConnect provides KONZA network members with access to over 1,000 new healthcare organizations, including 50 hospitals. The connection to GNOHIE provides 50 health and human service providers in New Orleans with access to the KONZA network.

"Patients travel all across the nation, and no matter where they find themselves, they must have access to their medical records," said Russ Calicutt, Director of Carolina eHealth Network (CeHN) - a KONZA Network exchange. "KONZA is making this kind of interoperability a reality. On the first day Atrium Health connected to CeHN, Atrium providers successfully pulled back critical medical records for their patients who also received care in South Carolina, Connecticut, and Kansas."

"This is a big day for us," noted Jeremy Lapeyrouse, Director of HealthSYNC of Louisiana - a KONZA Network exchange. "We are excited to connect to the Greater New Orleans Health Information Exchange. Both HealthSYNC and GNOHIE share the goal of connecting healthcare providers, patients, and other healthcare stakeholders to share critical patient medical records. This helps to improve the patient experience as well as the health of our communities and state."

Laura McCrary Ed.D, President and CEO of KONZA, noted, "KONZA has become one of the largest medical record exchange networks in the nation. We are honored to welcome the members of Atrium Health CareConnect and Greater New Orleans Health Information Exchange to the KONZA Network. These connections benefit everyone. Providers no longer waste valuable time tracking down patient medical records, and patients no longer have to be concerned about remembering all their healthcare information."
